It’s been a while since No Man’s Sky was announced, and we’re still pretty much in the dark regarding what we’ll do in the game once it launches.

Yes, we know we’ll be exploring a new, procedurally generated universe. Our goal will be to head towards the center. We’ll be able to discover life on planets, name things and fly where we like. Beyond that? The unknown surpasses the known in a massive way.

IGN is spending a month looking at No Man’s Sky with their First feature during July. To kick that off, we have the video you see above. It features time spent and mechanics discussed with Hello Games’ Sean Murray.

The clip actually reveals a lot of what we’ll be doing in the game, though it doesn’t completely pull off the veil. Some stuff was known, but the specifics that Murray hits on seem a bit more tangible now. We know there’s a five star wanted level, for instance. We get a look at wild life actually attacking the player. Then there’s the hint that players will actually have something to do should they reach the center of the universe. That’s the first hint at post-game that I’ve heard personally.

The clip features some wonderful footage as well as a few tidbits worth hearing and seeing from Murray. We’ll have more on No Man’s Sky as it comes.

There’s no release date for this one yet. It is coming to both the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms, though.
